Ren and Mason’s Chattanooga wedding at Howe Farms was one of those weddings that had me equally excited and mildly nervous. Not because anything was complicated. Not because there was some wild wedding-day drama. But because the bride is a photographer. And not just a photographer, a photographer I genuinely consider a friend. No pressure, right?
Photographing another photographer’s wedding is a unique experience. They know what goes into creating great images. They understand light, timing, posing, and all the little things most people never think about. At the same time, they also know how important it is to trust the person behind the camera. Thankfully, Ren and Mason are the kind of people who make everyone around them feel comfortable, which made documenting their day feel simple. And honestly, if you’re going to photograph a fellow photographer’s wedding, this is exactly the kind of wedding you’d hope for.

Spring in the South knows how to show off. The weather was warm, the grass was green, the trees were full, and the sunshine showed up exactly when we needed it.
Howe Farms provided the perfect backdrop for the day. The ceremony took place outside beneath the willow trees, surrounded by lush greenery and family gathered close. The reception space was equally stunning. The main building has a beautiful Southwestern-inspired feel with white walls, dramatic arch windows, dark accents, and soaring ceilings. Inside, soft draping stretched across the room, oversized chandeliers glowed overhead, and the entire space felt bright, clean, and effortlessly elegant.
The design reflected that same approach, with loose white florals, greenery, candlelight, and neutral linens. Everything worked together to create a timeless look that let the people be the stars of the show. It was beautiful enough to elevate the space, and simple enough that it wouldn’t feel dated twenty years from now.

One of my favorite things about Ren and Mason’s wedding was how family-centered it was. There were kids everywhere! The little ones weren’t tucked away in a corner. They were part of the celebration. They walked down the aisle, played with flower petals, stole the show, and reminded everyone that weddings are ultimately about family.
Of course, portraits were also a huge priority, which makes complete sense when the bride is a photographer. We intentionally built time into the schedule so Ren and Mason could fully enjoy that part of the day without feeling rushed.
Ren and Mason’s wedding had plenty of beautiful details. But what I’ll remember most is how much fun everyone had, how loved they were by the people around them, and how easy it was to see that these two are exactly where they’re supposed to be.
