Honestly, photography found me later in life. I bounced around after high school, living in different places, California, Hawaii mostly in retail management. I found myself circling back to the PNW, home. I have always been a skin care junkie, if you have never had a facial, run, don’t walk, to schedule one right now. I went to esthetician school and thought this is it; this is what I want to do.

I fell in love, got married, had two baby girls who are my world but I sort of lost myself in motherhood. I was a stay at home mom, no clue how to find myself again.

In comes my sister-in-law, drags me to a wedding to “second shoot,” but really she wanted someone to hang out with. I fumbled around that wedding pretending I knew what I was doing, then I fumbled around another, and another.

I thought I can’t be a photographer, she’s a photographer, everyone will think I am copying, secretly starting to love it. She encouraged me, basically pushed me off the ledge and said do it and do it now.

Here I am six years later. I’ve had many, many late nights learning from YouTube videos, online classes, reading how-tos, and Shooting, Shooting, Shooting as much as possible. I fell in love; I found myself. I wish I had found this passion sooner in life, but that just wasn't my path. I was meant to find it when I did.

Photography has me looking at life and this world in a whole new way. It’s opened my eyes to how short life really is, how beautiful this world is, and how the most mundane things that we do day to day are truly the days you want to remember.
