A Dreamy and Vibrant Wedding Day at Bar Cala PDX

I had the honor of photographing a wedding for a friend of Victoria and Kirby, leading me straight to this colorful Portland wedding day. I can't express how much I adore this couple. Their journey to this moment was filled with twists and turns. They had begun planning their wedding, but the pandemic hit, putting everything on hold. To add to the challenges, Victoria's father was diagnosed with ALS. They knew they needed to get married for her dad to be able to be there, so they played around with a few different plans and ultimately chose Bar Cala. This Portland wedding venue held special meaning as a friend had just opened the bar, and they had never hosted a wedding there before. Victoria's persuasive powers won them over, and the day turned out incredibly special with her family present. They had been together so long that all their friends and family were overjoyed to see them finally tie the knot.

Oh my goodness, the decor at this wedding was SO much fun! It was the perfect setting, like a slice of Palm Springs right in the heart of Portland. The vibe was super colorful, and the florals were stunning, with playful touches of fruit. And can we talk about the pink Cadillac that showed up for pictures? You know I’m never going to turn down a prop like that! Victoria even changed into a fabulous jumpsuit towards the end, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. The whole group of friends was just a blast to be around!
